Uniform Frequency Response

D108A, D108B and 58 have a similar frequency response. With its brightened midrange, bass roll-off and carefully contoured presence, the D108A is ideal for professional vocal use for recording with tailored vocal sound and best for close miking, while D108B is ideal for live sound reinforcement with enhanced bass punch.

Superlux now presents the D108 series dynamic microphone which is a milestone in the world of professional vocal microphones, exhibiting exceptionally uniform frequency response not only on-axis, but also off-axis. And D108 series features the balanced tone and natural sound profiles and delivers clear and warm vocal reproduction.

D108 series comes with two versions, one is D108A designed for recording with tailored vocal sound and best for close miking, and the other is D108B best for live sound performance with a tailored bass punch response. The modular design of the D108’s capsule with its gold-plated connectors permits easy separation of the grille and capsule from the body of the microphone, facilitating maintenance.

The D108 has a super-cardioid pickup pattern which isolates the main sound source while minimizing background noise. Constructed of durable metal with a strengthened mesh grille, foam filter and shock-mount system to cut down handling noise, the D108 is very sturdy, withstanding even the occasional dropping while still producing a sound quality that is unsurpassed.
